About StussyIn 1980 Shawn Stussy made his mark. He screenprinted his scrawled signature on t-shirts and sold them with surfboards around Laguna Beach, California. These t-shirts set the stage for things to come and spawned Stussy, a clothing label that flipped casual wear with a classic style, that changed the fashion world forever. With Stussy's success came the opportunity to travel and spread the Stussy vibe. While globe-trotting, Stussy hooked up with the trendsetters of London, Japan and other areas of the world; musicians, skaters, DJ's, and artists. It was simple. He gave them gear and they rocked it. It was the spark that helped Stussy set the world on fire.

As Stussy moved into the 90's, his clothing evolved to take on much of the traits and characteristics of hip-hop music. Just like hip hop "sampled" old forms of music and made them fresh, Stussy's t-shirts "sampled" images and graphics from different social groups, time periods, and musical styles and mixed them up to make them his own. Stussy's look was so right. It felt classic. People from all over the world rocked Stussy's gear. It crossed into so many different underground circles, that it was hard to pinpoint who wore Stussy. It has always been without a definition. Stussy blended together skatewear, workwear, surplus and preppy to set the standard for what is now referred to as street fashion.

Today, Stussy has developed a more defined classic sense of style, pooled from different sections of growing international underground culture. Stussy is still global, worldwide and massive. It is stronger than ever. They are proud after twenty years of creating what street wear is and they're still recognized and respected by the cultures they flourish from. From skate to surf, to reggae to hip hop, to electronica to preppy, to surplus and everyone in between, Stussy still makes its mark.
